I'm Mikhaela Rodwell. I’ve worked in the cultural sector for nearly twenty years. There are big rewards in this kind of work. And there are also times we feel a bit stuck, and wish things could be better.

When you work in the arts, you're not only responsible for your projects, but also for your conceptual direction, your promotion, your professional development, your income and administration, and your strategy. You want to do this well, and feel that you and your work have integrity and meaning. And every now and then, you want it all to feel a whole lot easier.

Often you already have or know what you need, but it can be difficult to find this by yourself. And I've seen how it can help to work through these things with someone else who gets it.

Across my career, I've delivered major institutional research and arts programs, and I've worked in museums, university art and design schools, art fairs, biennales, public art projects, and an architecture practice. My bachelor degree is in history and film, and my postgraduate degree is in psychology. 

It's important that artists and their peers have ways to do and make work that feel right, make sense, and have value both personally and professionally. This is what I do with artists and creative practitioners on jobs of all sizes — international projects with complex logistics, grassroots initiatives that build community, and personal strategy. Sometimes this work involves analysing a current situation, navigating recurring dilemmas, making new processes together, or thinking through next steps and a new direction.
